CRT or no CRT, one thing is for sure: Right-wing leadership doesn't want the real history of Texas taught, including the Alamo and Davy Crockett. Mexico abolished slavery in 1829 and prohibited the importation of new slaves into the Mexican Territory (Texas). So, Mexico got the first taste of what the North got in 1860! Texas slaves went to fight with either the Mexicans or Cherokee Indians. Trump wanted to honor these pro-slavery Texan secessionists in his National Garden of American Heroes while ignoring Mother Jones, Paul Robeson, and Malcolm X. 

Trump as archetype of the Trickster: "he always breaks in, just as the unconscious does, to trip up the rational situation. He doesn't respect the values that you've set up for yourself, and smashes them." The trickster-hero sums up Donald Trump and other misanthropes of American history.
